The keywords that visitors use in your website's search engine provide you with the best insight into what they really want. By looking at what they search for you can better understand how to improve the outcome for these visitors and ultimately make more sales.

Google Analytics has just released a new feature; "Site Search". This new report gives you the facts about what visitors search for and most importantly what they do next.

To get started you will need to enable "Site Search" in your Google Analytics’ profiles to find out what people search for and where these searches lead. The Site Search Terms report is located in the Content section of your Google Analytics reports and can help you determine:

  • Which search terms visitors used
  • How visitors respond to your internal search engine (Total Unique Searches metrics)
  • Which search terms caused visitors to search again? (% Search Refinements metrics)
  • How your websites’ internal search affects site usage, conversion rates, and ecommerce activity.

For more information on how to set up “Site Search” within Google Analytics and use the reports, contact Panalysis on 1300 368 553.
