About Rod Jacka
Rod Jacka is the Managing Director of Panalysis, a specialist web business analytics company. Rod holds a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) University of Sydney and a Master of Business and Technology from the University of New South Wales and has over 11 years experience in management and consulting in the Internet industry. He has worked in industries as diverse as education, retail and manufacturing and has consulted on developing the business outcomes for a large number of major websites.
The internet is, relatively speaking, still a new medium and with the lack of standards, inaccurate data collection methods and the huge number of web analytics software vendors, business managers find that there is often more confusion than clarity in understanding their website. Realising this Rod founded Panalysis in 2001 to provide solutions to business that allow them to unlock the latent potential residing in the data generated by their websites by analysing this data in a business context.
Originally from a trades background, Rod is a firm believer in the old adage, “measure twice and cut once”. By applying this to data collected from a website there is a gold mine of potential information relating to visitor behaviour and measures of effectiveness in a marketing context that if acted upon can potentially save many thousands of dollars through avoiding costly implementation mistakes.
